A completely abstract oil painting on canvas, created through the direct tactile application and smearing of paint using fingers and hands. The center of the composition features a vibrant, thickly layered (impasto) concentration of bright red, orange, and yellow tones blending into one another, bearing the physical traces of touch. These central warm tones are framed by darker, cooler areas of paint in deep blue, gray, and black, concentrated mostly along the top and sides of the canvas.

0048 - The Last Touch

0048 - The Last Touch This is Lea's very last artwork. Her caregiver, Adela, applied paint to her fingertips, and Lea—completely blind and living with Alzheimer's—simply pressed and guided her fingers across the canvas, smiling.
