Lea Majaro-Mintz Sculptures & Art

The Legacy of Lea Majaro-Mintz
The artist Lea Majaro-Mintz, my mother, passed away in 2022 at the age of 95. Lea was a visionary and a trailblazer in every sense. A brilliant mind, she graduated from both the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and law school, practicing law for a decade before choosing to dedicate her life entirely to her true passion: art.
Her contributions to Israeli culture were immense. In 2009, she was honored with the lighting of a torch at Mt. Herzl, a distinction reserved for those who have made an extraordinary impact on the nation. She received the Jerusalem Prize from the legendary Mayor Teddy Kollek and was invited to exhibit her work at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. Lea’s art was groundbreaking, establishing her as a canonical figure in the Israeli art world during her lifetime.
In 1983, we restored the historic home of her grandfather, Shimon Rokach, who founded the first Jewish neighborhood in Jaffa in 1887. Lea moved her entire collection to this house from her gallery in the Old City of Jerusalem—the city of her birth, where her father served as the physician for Bikur Holim Hospital within the city walls.
Today, her life’s work remains on display at the Rokach House in Tel Aviv. However, we face a looming deadline: by September 2026, we must vacate the premises.
This website serves as a living catalog of her extraordinary estate. My mission is to document, categorize, and preserve her legacy while offering her sculptures, paintings, and books for sale to those who wish to own a piece of this history. As I begin the process of cataloging dozens of works, I invite you to explore the collection. New pieces will be added regularly as we prepare to find new homes for these treasures.
Alongside my mother’s artistic legacy, this site also serves as a sanctuary for documenting the stories of the pioneers and heroes of our family who helped shape this country. To be added during 2027. These pages shall be in Hebrew, reflecting the lectures I deliver to audiences across Israel.
